Round & Round We Go

Friday after work Phe, Sonia, Tyler and I decided to go to the mall to do some Christmas Shopping. Tyler now knows that when we go to the "New" Mall that he can ride the carousel. Why we call the mall the "new" mall I don't know. It's only been there almost 10 years. Anywho, here are some cute pictures. Tyler always wants to ride on the TIGER, okay, truth be told, we make him ride the TIGER. GO LSU !!
This picture was blurry but it is still clear that he loves the carousel.

Our long and interesting weekend

Thursday, our day of Thanksgiving started off with a bang, try cramming 40 people in a house that should at MAX only hold 20-25 all together for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a world wind. Dana's clean house was destroyed within minutes, kids were running wild and adults were all standing where-ever possible.
Most everyone was in good spirits, well except for my Covington crew. I ate a bad steak the day before that about killed me. I couldn't stand the smell or taste of anything. I didn't eat the first bite of Thanksgiving dinner. That's really sad. Tyler was in an extremely foul mood b/c Philip tried to teach him to share a toy with his cousin Micah, which ended in disaster. Tyler had a screaming fit the rest of our stay at Dana's. He was literally throwing himself onto the ground with anger. It was past his nap time and it just wasn't a good situation. Poor Philip was just trying to hold us all together. Needless to say, we left after a while and we all went home and crashed. We all needed the nap. Afterwards, we perked up and had a nice quiet evening at home.
Friday it was decided that we should have another mini Thanksgiving at Aunt Sandra's house. We brought whatever leftovers we had and we all ate together. It was relaxing and we all had good food with great company. It was about 10 of us, maybe a few more. Tyler played well with the other kids and we all kicked back. THEN the LSU football game on. Let's just say we all know that LSU lost the game. Enough said.
Saturday & Sunday went by quietly and then in the middle of the night Sunday/Monday morning I woke up with extreme pain in my abdominal area. I freaked out b/c I couldn't move and I was hurting VERY bad. I decided that my appendix must have ruptured and I was about to die. Philip left work and met me at the house and Sonia came over to stay the night with Tyler while we were at the Emergency Room. It ended up that my appendix did not rupture but I indeed to have kidney stones. More than likely I got them through genes passed down from my sweet daddy. He used to get them all the time. So Monday and most of yesterday I was doped up on pain medication so needless to say I was in lala land. Yesterday I went to an urologist and they did a whole bunch of test and x-rays and luckily I passed the stone there and was able to go home without any pain. My kidneys are still sore and I feel like I have been punched in the side about a hundred times but the soreness is managable which I am very happy about. I don't like taking medication so my stress level is back to normal.

Let us give thanks

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!

Be safe on the roads and let's all remember what Thanksgiving is about - aren't we so blessed to have our family, love, health, jobs and our friends. Mostly, Thank God for him allowing us to have all these things.
Treasure your crazy aunts, cousins and grandparents that we all have in our families. Without them our family wouldn't be complete.

Daddy's Home

Philip made it home around 9:15 last night from his hunting trip. Tyler was pretty much sleeping with me on the couch by 8:30, well that was until Philip called to tell us he was in shouting distance and that I better keep Tyler up until he got home. So, I got the kid moving again and we patiently waited for daddy to get home. I saw the lights from the truck turning into the driveway so I told Tyler to come outside with me to see who was at the house. As we turned the corner Tyler spotted Philip and let out a big gasp and started smiling really big so I put him down and he ran to Philip saying "daddy-daddy-daddy" the whole way. Tyler was thrilled to have his daddy home. Philip was happy to be home too. He was wooped. We made our way back into the house and the wrestling began. They played on the floor together until 10:00 and I finally had to ask Philip to start settling down again so we could attempt to get Tyler asleep before midnight. I think Tyler crashed a few minutes later.

I didn't have much time to talk with Philip last night but I sure did miss him. I did get the details of a few of their hunting experiences while snuggling on the couch but that was short lived. We were all so tired & we were both asleep by 10:30.

My sweetheart is home - safe and sound.

ALONE for the weekend

POOR BAMBI

Philip is off to San Antonio to become a HUNTER !! A few of his buddies are going as well. Danny, Ron, Alan and Philip alone in the woods with guns really scares me. They are so goofy and when you put them together goofy turns into madness. So, Tyler and I are all alone this weekend to do WHATEVER we want, to eat whatever we want and for me I get to sleep in the middle of the bed and not fight over blankets. Oh wait, I am suppose to be sad that he is gone. I am really. He is not even in the same state. :(

Anyhow, I am asking that you guys say a little prayer for them that they enjoy themselves and enjoy in fellowship with one another. Also, most importantly, pray for their safety. I want them to all come home in one piece and not with any battle wounds.

Our Trip to Cabella's Outdoors.

Since we were in the Gonzales area yesterday for a funeral Philip was determined that we were going to go to Cabella's to check out all the outdoor goodies. We had both heard that they had a lot of wildlife in display. Tyler fell asleep right before we got there so he slept through most of the store but once he woke up we re-walked the good parts. He really was interested in the deer and the different types of bear. Lord knows Tyler's PawPaw is giddy with delight over the interest in deer. What PawPaw doesn't know is that his mother is going to teach him to protect the wildlife. This really isn't the greatest picture but it struck me b/c Tyler looks like a big kid facing the world all on his own. Makes me happy and sad at the same time.
Tyler and Philip checking out the deer on the wall.

He was trying to get to the Nutria Rats in the display. GROSS !!
The Swamp exhibit was really good. Everything looked like it truly is in our beautiful swamps.

Saturday night the Deschamps crew came over to play. The kids get to play and run wild for a while and then once they crash we get to play a fierce game of UNO. I didn't win so I won't say who did b/c I am still being a sore loser. :)

Back To Our Youth !!

Friday night we all went out to celebrate Chad and Joel's birthday. Chad is Nicole's husband. Nicole has become a really good friend and I am so glad to have met her through Wade. Their nickname is MaMaw & PaPaw b/c they go to bed so early. You know what I think about that - they better sleep as much as they can before they start having children b/c once those precious angels come into their lives they will not remember what the word 'sleep' means. Anyhow a bunch of us got together to celebrate and just hang out together. It's hard to get all of us together & it usually means that someone can't come and this time it was Dawn (AKA 'Baby D') and her husband Dean. We had a great time and the food was pretty good. After dinner we all decided to resort back to our youthful days of visiting the bars @ LSU. As we were walking to The Varsity Philip realized he didn't have his wallet so of course the door man was ID-ing and wouldn't let us in. My gosh !! We are 27 years old but the guy didn't care and we couldn't go in. SO, we decided to call it a night and had to part ways with our friends. I was so disappointed, I really wanted to go and watch the guys make fools of themselves :( Life is not fair.

More pictures from the weekend

Of course of Saturdays we watch LSU football. Just another cute picture on Game Day. GO TIGERS !!!

The day comes where you really do realize that you have the cutest kid alive. I have been on the hunt for new pajamas for Tyler and I ran across these adorable Thomas pj's. He was the happiest I have seen him in a good while. He ran across the house screaming "choo choo" about 1500 times. I should probably go and buy another pair since his belly already has the buttons about to pop off.

Where's the Rodeo

Last weekend Tyler & I went to visit my parents and Ryan for a while. When Phe and I are driving around with Tyler we always point out horses and cows in pastures and he gets all excited. Tyler did get to ride a horse with Philip in February but Tyler was so little that he wasn't aware of what the horse really was. My parents' neighbor has horses so we decided to go visit the horses. They had two chairs right along the fence line which is obviously where the horses get snacks or something b/c as we were walking around the horses wouldn't acknowledge us but as soon as we sat in those chairs they started trotting to us. Tyler didn't want anything to do with the 2 brown horses. The first brown horse stuck his entire neck and head through the fence and started sniffing us, like major sniffing, so Tyler got really still and nervous. The one black horse walked up and started grazing around us so I would pick some grass and feed it to the horse. Tyler got a kick out of that b/c the horse would expose his teeth while grabbing for the grass. The black horse also had a beard if that's what you would call it - it would tickle Tyler and he start smiling and giggling. Tyler finally got SUPER brave and reached out to pet the horses face. Tyler watched Ryan rub the horses down with amazement - his mouth was wide open and he said 'wo'. He was so excited !! We watched the horses graze for awhile and then it was time to run off into the yard again so off we went.

Halloween 2007

This was Tyler's 2nd year for Trick or Treat but it was his first year to really participate. We stayed in Denham Springs this year & Trick or Treated in the Willows, which is the subdivision that Philip's parents live. We waited patiently for daddy to get home so we could get started on our adventure. Before Philip arrived Robin and her crew came by to see us and to grab a stroller, her little ones were so cute.
Tyler and I getting ready for Trick or Treat !!
The Deschamps crew arrived just in time for pictures.
Not the best picture but what more can you ask for considering the oldest is 2 years old.
Papa and Tyler cruising down the Boulevard while waiting for Philip to get there.
After all the events of the night were over Tyler was playing with Papa. Philip & I really lucked out because they opted to have Tyler spend the night so we could get some much needed sleep. I have more pictures to download for Halloween. Grandma came over to Trick or Treat with us too so I'll post those pictures later today or tomorrow.
